A Trip to Chicago Literally Cut Short and Door County 2014...

This Summer has been full of fun and excitement...well, I guess that's what you could call it.
We had planned a fun weekend in Chicago.  We had planned on hitting the Science & Industry Museum, Alder Planetarium, The Cheesecake Factory and the Lego Store.  Well, let's just say, the best made plans...
We got to our hotel and decided to hit the pool. We all had a great time until we left.  As we were walking out the door, I opened the door over Hayden's foot and it split it open.  It was horrible.  He got a quick ride in an ambulance to the ER and come back about 3am with 10 stitches.  Well, we didn't fulfill all our plans, but we did make it to the Cheesecake Factory and the Lego Store.

He stayed in pretty good spirits

We made the best of the situation.

We had to find some fun indoor activities to do since Hayden really wasn't to be on his foot much.

But by the time we headed to Door County, he was pretty much back to normal.  The only limitation was swimming in the lake.  It probably would have been to cool anyhow, and we had plenty of fun things to do!!!
Passing the time while waiting for our table at PC Junction

 Lunch at P.C. Junction!

The boys had been waiting half a year for their boat ride in the boat Uncle Jim built!  They LOVED it!!!

Henri had no problem waiting for his turn.  He enjoyed playing in the water.
 Even I braved the waters!
After a picnic lunch, although the boys couldn't swim in the water, they didn't pass up a chance to play in the sand.
We made a trip to the farm and fed some animals.

 painted some pottery
 and visited Cave Point!

We saw a rainbow while we waited for the rain to pass so we could go Golfing...

We had (as always) a wonderful time visiting Uncle Jim and Aunt Janet and Door County!!!
