First Day of School...REALLY???

Okay, so here is the official "First Day of School" picture. The First Day of School was only an hour and Keith and I were with him, but it was good. He got to see his classroom and meet some of his classmates and his teacher and then we took him for breakfast. It was a pretty simple day, but the true first day according to the school district...

Here Hunter is on the "2nd" day of school; however, to me this is the true first day. And Hunter's school year has begun in all it glory. So, Hunter will be a bus rider, but I thought, oh, the first day I'll take him. I want to see that smiling face as he waves to me at the school door with all the other little kindergartners. And that is how it started. We said our goodbyes and I was quickly chatting with an other parent, doing the same thing, when Hunter came to tell me good by one last time, and mind you, I was there all of 30 sec. or so, anyhow, Hunter then begins to cry and scream that he did not want to stay and that he wanted to go home with his mom! Well, I figured the best thing to do was to leave promptly at that point. I was totally shocked at his reaction. This is just not my fearless Hunter. So we left, although I did hide behind a bush so he could't see me and watched. I just had to see how long this was going to proceed. It continued for about 10 min. I would guess, and then they went into the school. I did receive a reassuring phone call from his teacher; however, to let me know that once he entered the building he was fine. They went to art class and he was doing great. Well, what a way to start off...I hope Monday goes better!!! Please keep that in your prayers. A meltdown at the bus stop is not how I want to start my week!!!
BACK TO SCHOOL...OH WHAT FUN!!!

"Poor little guy", but I'm sorry, Lindsey, I had to laugh...
I have to ask, did you have a little tear in your eyes??
I'm sure once settled in, he'll absolutely love it.
I'll be waiting for Part 2 (the school bus)...

Love, Auntie Janet

By the way, he is just too darned cute!

Those pictures just make me smile - especially the first one. He is SO CUTE!! Too bad there wasn't a picture of you hiding in the bushes...

Hoping that Monday is exciting for him and uneventful for you. Will be waiting to hear how he does. Such a big boy! :)
