Hayden's Birthday Celebration...His Party...

For Hayden's 2nd Birthday we had a farm theme, so I made a Barn Yard Cake

Hayden had fun getting to see family and being spoiled by all the attention! We missed everyone that couldn't be there.

Hayden was pretty excited to see his cake for the first time and to get an early taste of it too!

While we were singing Happy Birthday to him, he grabbed at the candles so my reaction was to pull the cake away quickly...which I believe was the correct choice; however, the cake did not hold up that great to it...here is the aftermath...
Oh well, Hayden enjoyed his pig cupcake and had to have seconds on the ice cream!
We had to dress the part too, and Poppy had some hats that shrunk, so the boys each got their own Poppy "farmer" hat.
Hayden understood all about presents this year for sure and enjoy opening them! He was and still is very excited about the Tractor that Memaw & Harold got him. When you push a button is shakes and Hayden just laughs and laughs!
He also felt that Memaw needed all the tissue paper from the bags.
And if anyone recalls Hunters second Christmas where he would pull tiny pieces of the wrapping paper off and throw them in the garbage one at a time...well, we re-lived that with Hayden as well. If Hunter tried to help him, he would re-wrap it and start over. It was pretty funny. Fortunately there were only 2 gifts wrapped in paper.
Thanks to everyone for coming and for the wonderful gifts. Again, we missed those who were not there and all of you who were sick, hope you will be feeling better soon!!!

Gosh, I don't know where to begin. We just got back from Michigan and I really enjoyed looking at your latest entries. The cake is just too darned cute as is the birthday boy. The Thomas adventure looks really fun and the wee ball does, too. These are some pretty sweet boys with some pretty great parents...Luv ya all...
